REF: State of Emergency with regard to looting in the Pine Mountain Region

Looting of sacred sites, culturally important to Native Americans, is rumored to be ongoing NORTH of the Pine Mountain district. Also looting of suspected Native American graves on Black Mountain in Harlan County is also ongoing.
Sacred items such as: ceremonial spear points, large flint knives, pottery and large ceremonial flint points are being traded practically out in the open in the Manchester, Hazard and Harlan areas.
